Ah, yes, I dealt with this one when I opened up my blog to guest posters for the month of February. I thought I spellt out pretty explicitly what I was looking for and most prospective posters delivered the goods. But a few emailed me all of two sentences saying, "Yo, I'd like to guest blog. What would do you think I should write about?"

Umm, if I had an idea, I would just write about it myself. But the purpose of giving guest bloggers a chance is to let them voice their opinions and perspective, so me assigning topics does not achieve that goal, plus it creates more work for me.

I love the posters who emailed me saying "here are two ideas - let me know if one of these works for you." Notice I said TWO ideas, not ten. In most cases, either one fit the bill, but I went with the one that was further from my own experiences to give readers a little something different.
